The Confidence Scarf is made from 100% organic cotton and designed around the theme of confidence in Christ. Centered on 1 John 4:4, it features verses that speak to identity, mercy, courage, and visible faith.
Behind the Design
This scarf began with a meditation on 1 John 4:4, but what stayed with me most was “You are of God.” This NKJV phrasing felt weighty. It presses beyond the idea of simply belonging to God and speaks to identity, likeness, and the reality that if we are His, our lives should bear the evidence of His presence. This scarf was developed around that tension many believers feel: knowing God loves them, yet still struggling to live like people who are truly of Him.
The verses chosen for this design work together as one message.
-
1 John 4:4 speaks to identity and spiritual reality.
-
Ephesians 1:4–5 roots that identity in God’s choosing before the foundation of the world.
-
2 Corinthians 12:9 answers weakness with sufficient grace.
-
2 Timothy 1:7 speaks against fear and inner retreat.
-
Matthew 5:16 turns that inward truth outward, calling the believer not to hide, but to shine in a way that glorifies the Father. Woven through the design is also the phrase
- “His mercy endures forever” speaks against condemnation.
Together, these scriptures speak against fear, condemnation, and hiding, and call the heart back into agreement with what God has said.
This scarf is for the believer who needs to be reminded of who they are in God. It is for the one who wrestles with condemnation, fear, hesitation, spiritual dullness, or the feeling that they are not very effective for God. It is for the believer who knows there is more, but has been tempted to hide, shrink back, or disqualify themselves because of weakness. My hope is that these scriptures would be remembered, believed, and obeyed, confronting lies, strengthening faith, and calling the heart back into agreement with what God has said.
Symbolism on the Scarf
-
At the center of 1 John 4:4 reads Holy Spirit, reinforcing the truth that confidence does not come from self-effort, but from He who is in you.
-
The scarf also features these Hebrew names: יהוה (YHWH — LORD), ישוע (Yeshua — Jesus), רוח הקודש / הקודש רוח (Ruach HaKodesh — Holy Spirit)
Scripture on the Scarf
-
John 4:4 NKJV
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. -
Matthew 5:16 NKJV
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. -
Ephesians 1:4-5 NKJV
...He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, -
2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. -
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind -
His mercy endures forever (from Psalm 136, noted throughout the design)
